Question about the LAP

I was thinking about the LAP project and I came across a couple of questions. How do you want the LAP to be turned in? Right now I am typing all of my responses (reading interview, retelling) on the computer and printing them out. Will that be ok? And how we will turn in the running records? Is it ok to have them hand-written? It would be hard to have those corrections typed up. I am just trying to get a mental picture of how the LAP will look.

I think that you can type stuff up, but include some of the stuff that you have written with the running records, and other things that seem important to you. I think that you can also include photos or other things that you have observed and written down about the student.

Going along with your question, I was also wondering what kind of analysis we have to make about the data collected. I understand how to collect information about our student, but I am unsure of how to interpret it.

so basically, anything you can gather that correlates to your students reading should be included into the LAP? I have been making copies of materials and things. Hopefully this will turn to be beneficial to my final project.

I am also wondering how you would like the LAP turned in and finalized and if there are any specifications you would like within the portfolio. Glad this question was asked. Thanks!

From what I understand, all of the templates he is giving us type in our responses or answers and print them out. For the parts we write or take notes in class, then we should type them up for him. Then I also think that for the running record that if we have our corrections and notes written on the paper we should just turn that in. He did say to turn in everything we have, our notes, the typed up version, everything we use throughout gathering the materials. I am also guessing we turn this in in a professional way, like a binder or something neat.

I think that it is basically everything in the syllabus under the LAP assignment and he wants it typed up, but I would probably include your class notes as well. They could be useful to use in the future. Also provide examples of their work for the portfolio, that is something I myself have yet to gather. But you could probably with the consent of the teacher take writing examples from their writers notebook or folder and make copy's of it at the school!
